The Central panel of the Ladyland group is that of Sir Neil Cochrane-Patrick of Woodside and Ladyland, and the Blazon has been shown on Page 4 in full colour.
|
The third panel of the group is on the right, and relates to Captain William Hamilton who bought the estate about 1669, from John Blair.

The Arms of Hamilton of Ladyland show;- Gules, a mullet between three cinquefoils Argent within a bordure wavy of the last. Crest; a dolphin pursuing another fish in the water Proper. Motto: "HONESTUM PRO PATRIA".
This Coat of Arms is shown here as a former owner of Ladyland and not as an ancestor of Cochrane-Patrick. Had he been it would have been incorporated in the Cochrane-Patrick Achievement.
